1. Is Gravity Fix suitable for my skin?
Gravity Fix is ideal for anyone who is under long term stress and whose skin is showing visible signs of Glycation – a loss of firmness and tone, fine lines/ wrinkles, constant dryness and dehydration, dullness and weakened skin barrier function.
2. How is it different from First Fix?
First Fix is our first stage generalist stress response serum that treats both the causes and the symptoms of stress on the skin. At a cellular level there are a variety of metabolic stress pathways that impact the skin in different ways and it’s important to understand your own stress response pattern and pathway in order to maintain skin radiance and vitality.
Gravity Fix targets the specific stress response of Glycation, addressing both cause and symptoms.
If you are using both Fixes we would suggest using the generalist First Fix in the morning and specifically targeted Gravity Fix in the evening.
3. What is Glycation?
Glycation is a result of high levels of glucose in the bloodstream. In addition to dietary sugar, high amounts of stress and high cortisol levels can also contribute to the glycation process.
When we are in a state of stress, our brain releases our primary stress hormone, cortisol. This triggers the release of stored glucose to give our bodies the energy it needs for a fight or flight situation. These elevated blood sugar levels trigger an internal reaction causing sugar molecules to attach themselves to collagen and elastin fibres. This, in turn, accelerates the degradation of collagen and results in stiffening of the fibres and faster breakdown of tissue.
We see this on the skin as –
Fine lines and wrinkles
Jowls
Loose sagging skin
Uneven skin tone
Thinness
Oil over production
Premature skin ageing,
Dryness
Dullness through poor cellular turnover
Glycation inhibits skin cellular performance, preventing normal functioning. Too much sugar accumulates glycated proteins which create wrinkles, sagging, swelling and acne.
4. Can I use Gravity Fix if I’m pregnant?
Gravity Fix is an excellent addition to your pregnancy skincare routine, although we advise against using it in the first trimester.
5. How much should I use?
Around 2-3 pumps each time you use it is plenty.
6. How should I apply it?
As with every de Mamiel product, the ritual of application is just as important as the product. Since stress is so pervasive, it is something that affects us on an emotional, physical and cellular level. Our approach has always been to turn Routine into Rituals and Rituals to Results and we believe that taking the time to apply Gravity Fix and perhaps practising some breathwork at the same time not only encourages greater efficacy but can help reduce stress itself.
To use, take a moment’s pause, apply a few pumps to fingertips and gently rub together to warm the product. Inhale deeply for a count of 3, pause, then exhale for a count of 5. Apply to face, neck and décolleté, massage into the skin, working up and outwards.
7. When should I use it?
For best results, use Gravity Fix morning and evening for a luminous, visibly transformed and re-plumped complexion.
8. Where in my routine should I use it?
Use Gravity Fix wherever you would use a serum. As part of a de Mamiel skincare routine, for re-energized, firmer and plumper skin we suggest using in the evening after Restorative Cleansing Balm, then following with your Seasonal Facial Oil of choice and Skin Recovery Blend.
For use in the morning, apply after cleansing over Dewy Facial Mist, and follow with Exhale Daily Hydrating Nectar SPF30. Skin will appear refreshed, more supple and with a radiant glow.
9. How long will the bottle last for?
With average usage one bottle should last for approximately 60 days.
10. How long should I use it for?
Gravity Fix can be used long-term as a preventative and reparative treatment.
11. How long will it take to see results?
This is dependent on the individual but based on our independent clinical trials, you should see results or changes in 2-3 weeks.
